Kentucky Passes Law Allowing Opt-Out of COVID Experimental Vaccines

Censored News: Kentucky Passed SB 8 into Law Allowing Opt-Out of COVID Experimental Vaccines, Even During an ‘Emergency’

The mainstream media is ignoring Kentucky’s Senate Bill 8 that allows opt-out from experimental vaccines due to conscientious beliefs, even during a declared emergency or epidemic. It was passed into law in March by the Republican super majority legislature without Democrat Governor Andy Beshear’s signature. SB 8 includes a provision stating, “no person shall be required to be immunized with a vaccine that has not been licensed and undergone at least two years of post-licensure safety study.” If the experimental COVID vaccines do get FDA approval, they could become mandated.

Other bills proposed in Kentucky “would bar the government from requiring any person to get a vaccine, prohibit employers from requiring employees to get a vaccine, ban discrimination against an employee who declines to get a vaccination, and prohibit public and private postsecondary schools and colleges from requiring students to be vaccinated except for students in health care programs.

Immunization opt-outs

Senate Bill 8 received final passage Tuesday, expanding the ability of Kentuckians and parents to opt out of required immunizations in the event of a pandemic based on conscientiously held beliefs.

The original version of the bill would have significantly relaxed requirements for childhood immunizations by allowing parents to opt out due to conscientious beliefs, with bill sponsor Sen. Mike Wilson, R-Bowling Green, fearing the government would mandate people take the COVID-19 vaccine.

The House passed an amended SB 8 last week by a 77-20 vote, adding a provision that no person can be required to be immunized with a vaccine that has not been licensed and undergone at least two years of a post-licensure safety study.

Rep. Lisa Willner, D-Louisville, voted against the bill last week, saying she was concerned about some of the rhetoric and disinformation spreading about the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines as the state seeks to vaccinate the public.

Kentucky enacts philosophical exemption law for experimental shots

It was perhaps the quietest major law change related to COVID-19 since the so-called pandemic commenced.

Senate Bill 8 became law on March 28 without Governor Andy Breshear’s signature. The state legislature passed the bill with veto-proof majority votes. The new law allows any adult, parent or emancipated minor to decline experimental shots based on “conscientiously-held beliefs.” The law requires the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services to create a simple form that anyone can fill out and easily submit to the target organization.
