OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Pharmacies like Prescriptions Unlimited in St. Cloud are still working on giving out second doses to those 16-and-up. Meanwhile, they tell us they’ve already received more than a hundred requests for vaccines in the next category: 12 through 15.

“We’ve already gotten a ton of requests and emails last night, especially from the parents that have 16-and-up, they also have children that are 12-and-up so they’re already asking when we’ll have that available,” owner and pharmacist at Prescriptions Unlimited, Eric Larson, said.

Larson says he’s teamed up with the Osceola County School District and department of health to vaccinate teens at their pharmacy or at one of their pop-up locations.

This Saturday, those will be Celebration and Liberty High Schools.

There’s one more step before he can offer the shots to the new age group.

“What we have to do is get the language to update our forms, our intake forms, and make sure everything is kosher with the state and local department of health,” Larson said.

Larson says he’s expecting turn out to be about the same as when the 16 to 18 population became eligible which was about 800 to a thousand kids.

As far as adults go, Larson says they’ve seen a significant decline, but they’re still doing about 40 to 50 shots a day.
