Orwell’s Farm, Zero Covid and the Mass Psychosis of Modernity!

George Orwell was able to foresee that the defeat of fascism at the end of WWII did not insure the triumph of liberty. His classic, like Animal Farm, and 1984 showed how authoritarian regimes of whatever stripe are equally destructive of freedom.

The ruthless centralization of power required to secure a military victory over Germany and Japan contained the roots of a similar danger embedded in its fabric of organization that Ike warned us about in his Farewell Address on 1/17/61 that described the Military Industrial Complex.

The Cold War effort to defeat Communism also led to the further centralization of power in the federal government that undermined the basic elements of the US Constitution. Secrecy in the name of national security allowed for the creation of a massive Deep State that required disinformation, propaganda and outright lies in order to function.

Modern society is now built on a mountain of untruth supported with false official narratives perpetuated by the Mockingbird Press, enhanced in recent years by Big Tech and Big Social Media.

This in turn has led to the Mass Psychosis of Modernity all around the world, perhaps best symbolized by the need for “Zero Covid” in places like New Zealand where a 99.9+% recovery rate and barely any actual deaths from the disease are not enough to avoid the imposition of draconian measures by the petty dictatoress of that beleaguered nation. http://stateofthenation.co/?p=80932

Australia has implemented similar drastic measures now augmented by the construction of internment camps, a key indicia of tyranny as medical apartheid solidifies in what’s left of the British Empire.

Whether its Pope Francis, Queen Elizabeth, Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, the Davos/WEF Crowd or others at the top of the political food-chain, the mass psychosis that affects both the leaders and their flock is on the verge of locking in as a permanent feature of the 21st Century.

All this excessive control is likely to be augmented in the coming days as the Neocon/Neolib response to this week’s airport attack in Afghanistan calls for a return to the failed policy of humanitarian intervention and revenge against those who killed US troops, as if the waste of countless trillions on an unwinnable war and the loss of so many innocent civilians lives along with our soldiers is to be ignored in a further orgy of war madness.

I call this the Huxwellian World of 2021, a Hunger Games type scenario fueled by a transhumanist vision in which there will be a significant culling of the population, immiseration of those who are left unless they are part of the ruling elite that may reside off-planet as depicted in the film Elysium.

We recently saw a glimpse of this process as hinted at by Orwell at the end of Animal Farm where the mantra of equality that had empowered the animal rebellion against the “pigs” morphed from “all animals are equal” into “all animals are equal but some are more equal than others!”

That sad reality was on full display earlier this month on Martha’s Vineyard when former President Obama celebrated his 60th birthday by flaunting Covid mask and social distancing protocols demanded for the rest of us.

It remains to be seen whether a deeply fractured world can find the inner strength to throw off the yoke of technological tyranny emerging triumphant over human decency as the prospect of a bleak future perhaps worse than Orwell predicted looms mere inches over the horizon.
