For those following the incredible career of Israeli PM Netanyahu, his resiliency is facing new tests as opposition to his continuing in office spreads far and wide.
Both Trump and Biden have expressed dissatisfaction with him as well as countless Israelis who oppose his style of governance, especially since the October 7th attack by Hamas.
The recent ruling requiring Orthodox Jews to participate in the military threatens to undermine his far-right coalition that has backed his Old Testament approach to Gaza despite widespread condemnation by world public opinion best illustrated by the ICJ decision in the case brought by South Africa.
Bibi has successfully withstood the shifting tides within Israeli politics for decades but many observers think he has held on too long and antagonized too many to prevail.
What if anything these latest developments have to do with his mandate from Rabbi Schneerson dating back to 1992 when the revered Rebbe chastised him for not doing more to accelerate the return of the Messiah remains to be seen.
But with new reports of preparations for sacrificing a Red Heifer as the precondition for building the Third Temple, one has reason to believe we are watching dramatic, possibly “End Time” events, emerging out of the latest turmoil in the Holy Land.
Christian Nationalism has become a major theme of the 2024 presidential election with Steve Bannon describing Trump as an agent of “divine provenance with the US as the New Jerusalem!” These comments have triggered a harsh reaction by the breast beating MSM, filled with pious left-wingers who disparage the former president’s posturing as America’s potential “savior!”
It’s hard to ignore how these unfolding dynamics…including Netanyahu’s role as a key proponent of the Jews as God’s Chosen One’s unique historical role…can lead to anything short of an Armaggeddon scenario if events continue along their current trajectory.
With so many of his own Israeli citizens out on the streets in protest, the effort to label anyone who criticizes Bibi or the Jewish State as being “anti-Semitic” is rapidly losing whatever remaining potency it once had.
As April 8th beckons with forecasts of dark repercussions extending far from the coming eclipse, the world watches carefully to see how this all plays out.
