Green light to start negotiations on international pandemic treaty
The World Health Assembly [WHA] is the decision-making body of the World Health Organization [WHO], a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for international public health.
The WHO intergovernmental negotiating body tasked with drafting and negotiating an international agreement on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, will hold its next meeting by 1 August 2022.
This instrument would allow the WHO to take control of 193 United Nations’ Member States to mandate legally binding health restrictions, and over ride Constitutions during a pandemic and ‘any’ other type of threat or disaster.
