Washington, D.C. – Representative Paul Gosar, DDS (AZ-04) issued the following statement after introducing a Resolution of Inquiry (RoI) directing the Secretary of the Health and Human Services to transmit copies of all documents, memoranda, advisory legal opinions, notes from meetings, audio recordings, records, correspondences, other communications, or any portion of such communications that refers or relates to Ivermectin, a drug prescribed by doctors and shown to be a safe and effective treatment in combating COVID-19. “Ivermectin, a drug prescribed by doctors to treat life-threatening infections, has been around for 30 years. Two researchers won the Nobel Prize for its discovery. Yet for the past two years, Ivermectin has been the subject of non-stop attacks and misinformation from the Liberal Left and Big-Pharma to suppress its effectiveness. A new peer-reviewed study published by the medical journal Cureus found that regular use of Ivermectin reduced the risk of dying from COVID-19 by 92%. We’ve known for years that Ivermectin was effective. If fact, Dr. Pierre Kory, a renown pulmonary care specialist, testified at a Senate Hearing in December 2020 that Ivermectin is a proven drug to treat COVID-19. Much of this was ignored by the liberal media, many in the medical community and Big-Pharma because it’s not the science you were told you had to believe. How many COVID-19 deaths could have been prevented had patients been prescribed Ivermectin for treatment in all stages of COVID-19? It’s long overdue for the Department of Health and Human Services turn over all records they are withholding regarding the effectiveness of this drug,” concluded Congressman Gosar.
